SO WRONG IT'S RIGHT

Alison Mosshart's pink hair.
I don't quite know when this happened or quite how I missed it, but oh my god I love it.
I know it's gross, and when I look at it I kind of want to vomit. It's got a slight 14 year-old-emo vibe, and it literally looks like a bucket of dye was tipped over her head.
I'm certainly not saying she should keep it forever, just for now.
Amazing.

TWIN PEAKS FAN ART

I love Twin Peaks - sometimes you could say I'm slightly obsessed, yet I've never made any Twin Peaks Art.
Perhaps I should?

Whoever is responsible for these, I salute you.

LANA DEL REY-VIDEO GAMES

Did she get her lips done? Is she manufactured? Is this song already being played to death?
I don't know, probably.
But I do like her videos.

GOTYE FEAT. KIMBRA - SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW

MY TASTES ARE TRASHY

I've been AWOL for quite a while lately - some of you may have noticed.
I'm in the process of moving/decorating, and when I say decorating I really should say renovating. I might still be stripping off wallpaper and ripping up carpets but of course it's the finishing touches that are occupying my mind.
My newest obsession is personalised neon lighting. Just the thing to get that sex-shop-tattoo-parlour-vibe in your very own living room. I'm getting mine from Neon Creations.

AMINAKA WILMONT SS12

It's always hard to be the last show at fashion week when everyone is all showed out - let alone having to follow Meadham Kirchhoff.  Entitled 'Changeling' ethereal and shimmering models showed the latest evolution of Aminaka Wilmont's digital prints, far prettier then in past seasons and with a much softer feel. Pastel colours paired with smoky tones and sheer fabrics along with armoured shoulders and cuffs in panelled dresses, and of course introducing us to the new silhouette of the one-legged trouser.

MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF SS12

THE.BEST.SHOW.IN.THE.WHOLE.WORLD.EVER

Super spectacle.
We took our seats to a pre-soundtrack of the Spice Girls at the old Eurostar tunnel which was unrecognisable after Meadham Kirchhoff decked the place out with huge arches made up of metallic hearts and pastel balloons.
The show opened with dancers dressed as a kinderwhore Courtney Love stopping in the middle of the catwalk to apply their make-up before Nutcracker music filled the room. The girls burst into dancing flinging their hands up and lifting their skirts (rumour has it Anna Wintor got flashed) as the models emerged from behind a large gold curtain.

The collection mixed checked jumpers and ties with applique vintage style cartoons, playful Baroque dresses and hold up stockings - As if you've just raided the world's best dressing up box.
As the models returned behind the curtains school girl ballerinas emerged and the gold curtain was pulled back to reveal more models on top of a jewellery box cake.
Crazy and wonderful and undoubtedly the show with the biggest cheer this fashion week.

Annoyingly my video wouldn't upload, but nothing other then seeing it will make you appreciate how great it was so check out the video of the show below and prepare to be amazed.

MICHAEL VAN DER HAM SS12

Back to work Monday meant a rapid dash across town during my lunch break to catch the Michael Van der Ham show at the old Eurostar tunnel, Waterloo station - I managed it! There and back in 1 hour. So fast I felt like a time traveler. Spring/Summer was a continuation of the collages and prints which have become his signature. The photography of Joseph Szabo's was the initial influence for this collection, resulting in elegant, traditional silhouette worn slouchy for a grunge edge. The collection also included Christian Louboutin shoes in six variations of Van der Ham's collage prints. The bright colours and wonderful clashes all remained, only this time with a far more wearable, more feminine feel.

HOLLY FULTON SS12

Holly Fulton's SS12 collection was one for the recessionista, forced to abandon her exotic holidays and vay-cay a little closer to home. Margate to be precise. The once glorious, now rundown  resort on the Kent coastline is the destination of choice for the Holly Fulton girl. I wonder what the locals will make of inspiring a collection at London Fashion Week - especially as their local Primark is the stuff of legend, apparently it's packed of their 'nicer' items which don't seem to sell well down there...
Zebra prints, clashed wonderfully with black and white squares and bursts of teal. The whole collection was fun and lively, a celebration of summer. Think Donetella Versace hanging out at Crazy Golf - possibly the best thing to happen to Margate in recent times.
