Everyone has their own opinions when it comes to 'best dressed lists' and it's diversity like this that makes the world a better place. Much of my day has been spent engaging with fierce email/twitter debates with friends about just who makes the cut for us after the Met Gala last night (and those that frankly don't).
- Also there has been some discussion about the tedious nature of most of the lists out there. Same names again and again, and some total babes neglected because they're not Hollywood actresses. I'm about to right that wrong.
This is my list.
Hanneli Mustaparta in Calvin Klein Collection looking utterly amazing.
Emma Stone looking cute as a button in Lanvin.
She got panned in the press but I think ChloƩ Sevigny looks amazing in Miu Miu. No stuffy Oscar gowns here. She actually looks cool.
It's never been my favourite label but Camilla Belle looks truly beautiful in Ralph Lauren.
It could be her recent nuptial joy that is responsible but Carey Mulligan is actually glowing in Prada.
I am SO SO SO jealous of Caroline Sieber in Christopher Kane with THAT Chanel shell clutch.
As I predicted on this blog a few months ago Lana Del Rey does now annoy the life out of me, though even I can't find fault with this Joseph Altuzarra ensemble. I'm a sucker for a cape.
Another look overlooked by most - and I know it isn't your standard red carpet affair but Kirsten Dunst looks elegant in Rodarte.
Lily Collins looks otherworldly in Victoriana-inspired Valentino.
When I first saw this look I wasn't sold but somehow it's grown on me and makes my list. Fair play to Alexa Chung for sticking with her signature style in Marc Jacobs, let's be honest, we'd be really disappointed if she turned up in Marchesa.
And special mentions for those on the other side of my list...
Poor Scarlet Johansson. Everything about this Dolce & Gabbana number distresses me. If by some unfortunate turn of events I was forced to wear this I'd rip that net skirting off in an instant.
In the past I've given Kristen Stewart a hard time for her poor red carpet efforts, but she's a young girl, I thought I should cut her some slack but this takes the biscuit. Boring in Balenciaga, hedge hair, bad posture. Remember this is UK Glamour's no1 on the annual 'Best Dressed List'.
*eyeroll*
So weird and so creepy on so many levels. Mary-Kate Olsen is terrifying in The Row.
Until next year!
